Slemani Provincial Council met up today, May 4, to discuss the process of decentralization in the governorate.

The committee of preparaing the draft of decentralization for the Slemani governorate held a meeting, saying the decentralization is not a political act, but to gain administative and financial freedom.

Hawsar Wshyar, member of Slemani Provincial Council said, " We have asked for administrative and financial decentralization, and the request is not just for the administrative institutions of Slemani, but for all other cities."

He added, " the process is to ease the daily tasks of citizens,"

Wshyar justified the act by saying, " It was the decentralization system, which was practised during the coronavirus crisis, lead to a great succcess,"

The decentralization bill has gained huge support from the people of the province and so far all the parties back the act.
