On Wednesday 13, 3, 2019, Kurdistan Regional government ruled a decision in which Halabja will own its vehicle number plate.

According to the decision, which was signed by Prime Minister of KRG, from now on Halabja-likewise other cities of Kurdistan Region-will have its own car license plate.

Amanj Rahim, Secretary of Council of Ministers, wrote in his Facebook account “the final approval for the Halabja vehicle number plate was received by both Kurdistan Regional government and Iraq”

He also went to add “following the Newroz holidays, Interior Minister, Kurdistan Region’s General Directorate of Traffic Police and Directorate of Halabja’s Traffic Police begin registring vehicle number, and thus the process of making Halabja a governorate passed into another phase”
