Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, along with the political bureau, visited Dr. Latif Rashid, the Iraqi president, at the Salam Palace as the first delegation.

In a meeting, in addition to congratulating and hoping for success in his new mission, Bafel Jalal Talabani reaffirmed all the support and cooperation of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan for the President of Iraq to protect the constitutional rights of the Kurdish people and to step in the direction of President Mam Jalal, who finds himself in harmony between the forces and political parties and protecting the high interests.

During the meeting, President Bafel Jalal Talabani noted that the election of Dr. Latif Rashid as the fourth Kurdish president in Iraqi history is a great honor for the Kurdish people and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan. "We will continue our efforts with our friends in Baghdad to protect the position of the Kurds and to work to serve and build a brighter future for all Iraqi peoples," he said.

Regarding the new Iraqi government, President Bafel said, "We fully believe in the constitution and real partnership in managing the country." It is the duty of the new government to serve all the individuals of the country based on national principles and equality without any differences and take big steps in confronting and opposing corruption.
