Bafel Jalal Talabani, Head of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan in Dabashan, welcomed Cui Wei, the Ambassador of the Republic of China to Iraq.

In a meeting attended by Amin Baba Sheikh, head of the Relations Bureau, and Dr. Soran Jamal Tahir, member of the political bureau, discussed the political situation in Iraq and the region and the development of relations at the economic and cultural levels.

The meeting focused on solving problems and overcoming challenges. The two sides agreed that today's situation in Iraq requires national and responsible dialogue to build a stable future. At the regional level, the expansion of long-standing relations between the region and China was described as important as President Mam Jalal was the founder and developer.

President Bafel Jalal Talabani explained the PUK's stance on the recent events in Iraq, saying, "We were initially involved in resolving the problems and dominating the language of dialogue. We have tried to calm the situation and work for unity and cooperation between the parties. It is the duty of all sides to concentrate our efforts for peace, stability and building the country."

In turn, Cui, the Ambassador of the Republic of Chin, congratulated the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan on the election of Bafel Jalal Talabani as the president of the Union, saying that "We are importantly looking at the role and position of President Bafel Jalal Talabani and that we are sure that the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan is in a secure hands. President Bafel's efforts in the past prove the fact that the PUK is protector and the continuer of President Mam Jalal's wise policy."
