The Head of the Relations Bureau and a delegation of Netherlands' consulate in Kurdistan region held a meeting.

Earlier this morning, 17/8/2022, Amin Baba Sheikh, member of the political bureau and Head of the relations bureau, welcomed a delegation from the Dutch Consulate in the Kurdistan Region led by deputy consul general.

The meeting touched upon the most important political events in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region. The two sides agreed that the political parties should find a way out of this political deadlock and resolve the problems through negotiations and in accordance with the constitution.

Amin Baba Sheikh said the PUK would welcome any appropriate initiative to get out of the situation and that the conflict would no longer continue. At the same time, the latest political developments and election issues in the Kurdistan Region have focused on a clean and pure election in a timely manner, with the cleanliness of the voter list, the protection of minority rights and their non-use in favor of any party's political interests.

The strengthening of relations between the Netherlands, Iraq and the Kurdistan Region was later discussed and it was decided that relations would be strengthened and continued for the benefit of both friendly nations.
