The political bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) issued a statement, welcoming the nomination of the Muhammad Shia al-Sudani by the Coordination Framework for the position
of the Iraq's Prime Minister.

"We warmly welcome the candidacy of Mr. Muhammad Shia al-Sudani by the Coordination framework to take the post of prime minister, and we hope that this step will speed up the process of completing the constitutional and legal procedures for forming the new Iraqi government." PUK politburo's statement said.

It added, "We in the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, despite our appreciation and reaffirmation of our cooperation and continuation of our national relations, are determined to succeed in the reform program and unify efforts to build a service government that will lead to more stability and strengthen the foundations of statehood and serve the people more."
