Bafel Jalal Talabani, President of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), confirmed that the political situation in Iraq requires a national and responsible stance.

President Bafel met on Friday with Nuri al-Maliki, the leader of the State of Law coalition, in Baghdad.

During the meeting, Bafel Jalal Talabani explained the PUK's position on the political situation in Iraq and said: "The political situation in Iraq requires a national and responsible stance. It is the duty of all political forces and parties to work to form a strong government that will ensure political, economic, and security stability and build a brighter future, and our efforts are for this purpose."

In response, Nuri al-Maliki, the leader of the State of Law coalition, stressed the continuity of talks to form a strong government capable of providing services and reforms and working to achieve higher goals.
