Iraqi President: Federal Board of Supreme Audit's Efforts Should Be Supported to Fight Against Corruption and Maintain Public Funds

On Monday, April 18, 2022, the President of the Republic of Iraq, Barham Salih met with Mr. Rafel Yassin Khudair, the Head of the Federal Board of Supreme Audit (FBSA). The meeting took place at Al-Salam Palace in Baghdad.

President Salih emphasized the important role played by the FBSA to maintain public money and fight against administrative and financial corruption.
It, therefore, has an effective role in supporting the national economy, thereby strengthening the State's efforts to establish good governance on the basis of improving the management system and strengthening of the quality of the governance and of the institutions of the State, he added.

These will ensure that there is an equal opportunity, and the country's wealth will be protected, Mr. President said, while stressing that the scourge of corruption threatens the stability, progress, and the will of the country.

Mr. Khudair appreciated the support provided by the President towards enhancing the FBSA's efforts and His Excellency's interest in the case of fighting against administrative and financial corruption.

Additionally, President Salih was briefed about the functioning of the FBSA and its future plans.
