On the 17th anniversary of electing the Kurdish veteran Jalal Talabani (Mam Jalal) as President of the Republic of Iraq, Bafel Jalal Talabani issues a statement, saying " We need to follow the wise policy of the President Mam Jalal for the political process in Iraq."

"Today, We are proud to commemorate the election of President Mam Jalal as the first Kurdish President in the history of Iraq. It is clear to everyone that Iraq is currently in a difficult political situation with the lack of national dialogue for solving problems and finding ways to overcome the obstacles. It shows the truth that more than any time we need to follow the wise policy of the President Mam Jalal for the political process in Iraq and to deepen the spirit of harmony and coexistence." Bafel Jalal Talabani said.

He added, "The latest events in Iraq and Kurdistan are more evidence showing the gap that President Mam Jalal created can not easily be filled and the only way to overcome the problems is to return to the wise policy of President Mam Jalal."

He asserted, "We extend our efforts to deepen harmony and coexistence among all nationalities and components, as always, dialogue and comprehension is the strategy for our work and we will protect human and democratic values."
