The Kurdistan Region's Deputy PM , sent his condolences on the passing of Madeleine Albright, former US secretary of state.

Talabani said, "It is with deep sorrow we received the news of the passing of the first female U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright. The Kurdish people will never forget her efforts to unify our nation. She was not a Kurd herself but had the spirit of Danielle Mitterrand, who always tried to end our internal conflicts. Kurd will never forget our true friends."
