PUK, KDP issued a joint statement after meeting up on election process

The Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK) and Kurdistan Democratic Party (KDP) issued a joint statement following their meeting on Wednesday about the next parliamentary election of the Kurdistan Region.

The two sides met up to discuss the questions of parliamentary election, the Independent High Electoral Commission, and the constitution.

Both sides agreed to hold the Kurdistan Region’s parliamentary election on its time, and take necessary national preparations, and have common vision on the political and legal mechanisms of election.

The two politburos agreed to work in order to strengthen people’s confidence in the election process, and hold a successful and transparent process.

Moreover, both sides decided to continue meeting up in the forthcoming weeks.
