On Thursday, PUK Co-Leader Bafel Talabani received a group of British lawmakers led by Gary Kent, Secretary of the All Party Parliamentary Group (APPG), in Slemani.

The two sides discussed the latest political, security and economic developments and parliament’s works as wells the legislature’s role in developing the society, observing the executive power and making laws.

Both sides reiterated more coordination and consult between the Kurdistan Region and the UK is necessary to improve parliament’s works.

"We want to reorganize the principles of statehood and determine the characteristics of the authorities through the constitution, and to improve people’s lives politically, economically and socially” PUK Co-Leader said.

He also added that the PUK “wants to establish a constitution in the Region that have national consensus and the opinions of all parties and people,"
