The Co-Leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Bafel Talabani, held a phone call with Iraq’s Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi, on Wednesday, to help ease the tensions in Kirkuk city and free the detainees.
After a tension took place yesterday night in Kirkuk between some supporters of a Kurdish political party and a convoy of Brigade 116 of Iraq, Iraq’s security and forces were deployed in some of the districts of the city and arrested a number of youths.
However, following the tension, PUK Co-leader made a call with the Iraqi PM to resolve the situation and stop detaining the youths.
