Earlier this morning on February 13, 2019, at 11:00 AM, PUK Political Bureau held a meeting in Sulaimani under the supervision of first and second deputies of Secretary General of PUK, Kosrat Rasul and Barham Salih.
The main topics of the meeting were, evaluation of political process and governing in Iraq, political status and negotiations for political consensus between PUK and KDP for the issues concerning Baghdad, Kirkuk and formation of Kurdistan Regional cabinet.
The meeting emphasized that the [Kirkuk Provincial Council]’s session on February 18 is dependent on signing political consensus between PUK and KDP as one package for Kurdistan Region, Baghdad, Kirkuk and national issues.
For resolving the problems related to political process, governing, establishment of real partnership in ruling and administering the duties, the Political Bureau reiterated on Patriotic Union of Kurdistan’s attitude for a political agreement between PUK and KDP on a large scale.
Kirkuk’s situation and the Kurdistani areas were analyzed in detail, the Political Bureau sees the question as a national one, and it is the responsibility of all the struggling parties to try treating those area’s abnormal situations.
In another part of the meeting, the life and livelihood of people were discussed. The Bureau stresses that the wealth and resources of Kurdistan Region should be in favor of providing better livelihood, services, security and stability for Kurdish people without discrimination.
