The Kurdistan Region's Deputy Prime Minister Qubad Talabani received British ambassador to Iraq, Stephen Hickey, and British Consulate General to Kurdistan Region, James Thornton, on Wednesday, June 23.

According to the statement of the Deputy PM's media office, the meeting focused on the situation of Kurdistan Region and Iraq, and the upcoming parliamentary election of Iraq.

In the meeting, Qubad Talabani thanked Hickey and Thornton, as their tenures have ended, for helping the Kurdistan Region, supporting the reorganization of Peshmarga and playing their role in reform process.

In turn, the British delegation reiterated support for the unity of the Kurdish parties, and expressed UK's committment to further support and aid Kurdistan Region.
