On Saturday, May 8, the Turkish warplanes bombarded a mountain in the Mawat district of Slemani province.

“The shelling started at 10:10 a.m. on Mount Asus within the borders of Mawat district,” Kamaran Hassan, a resident of Mawat district said.

Hassan said Turkish fighter jets have been shelling the mountains of Mawat district since 2017 with the excuse of the presence of Kurdish Workers' Party fighters (PKK), adding that they have caused material and humanitarian damage to the area.
