On Friday evening, Feb 27, the Deputy PM of Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG), Qubad Talabani, condemned the assault on the Iraqi MP of the Change Movement, Ghalib Muhammed.

"We condemn the attack on MP Ghalib Muhammed, and all security institutions have been assigned to conduct a thorough investigation into the incident and bring the assailants to justice. In a phone call with Mr. Ghalib I asked about his health and assured him that this cowardly act cannot be accepted from anyone." Qubad Talabani wrote in his Facebook account.

On the other hand, KRG strongly condemned the attack in a statement, and assigned the security forces to find the attackers.

The KRG said, in its statement: “The Kurdistan Regional Government assures the citizen of Kurdistan Region that will put all its efforts into action to protect the life of its people in whatever position they are, and no assault on people will be passed without punishment.”
