On Friday, Feb 27, Kurdish Iraqi lawmaker, Ghalib Muhammed, was attacked by knife in Slemani in front of his home.

The attack resulted in minor injury to his head, and then he was refereed to hospital. However, after being treated, the Iraqi MP was discharged to home.

Following the assault, the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan’s bloc in Iraqi parliament issued a statement, condemning the attack and asking for the arrest of the attackers.

“Unfortunately, a cowardly group attacked our friend of Iraqi parliament Ghalib Muhammed and injured him.” the statement of Iraqi parliament’s PUK faction said.

It also added, “We in the faction of PUK despite condemning the assault, we ask for investigating, uncovering and punishing the assailants.”
