Kurdistan Regional Government's delegation continues its meeting with Iraqi officials regarding the Kurdistan Region's share in the Iraq's 2021 budget law.

Regarding the process of negotiation, Iraqi lawmaker Shirwan Mirza has told PUKmedia that "The members of the Finance Committee requested some information about oil and non-oil revenues in the Kurdistan Region, as the negotiating delegation presented all this information to the Finance Committee and responded to the committee members ’questions,"

Mirza added that there are reciprocal proposals submitted by the Kurdistan Region's delegation and the Finance Committee, and the situation is not negative.

"We hope to reach an accord and a common understanding to end the pending financial files." he said.

Mirza also reiterated that the Kurdistan Region's delegation reaffirmed its commitment to the terms contained in the draft federal budget law for 2021.

The draft budget law obliges the Kurdistan Regional Government to deliver 250 thousand barrels of crude oil per day produced from its fields, and to hand over oil and non-oil revenues exclusively to the state treasury.

It also obliges the Kurdistan Region to pay the salaries of the Peshmerga for the year 2021 out of the allocations allocated within the budget of the Kurdistan Region for the mentioned year and towards the calculation of compensation for employees.
