The Health Ministry of Kurdistan Region announced nearly 840 new coronavirus cases and 12 deaths over the previous 24 hours, in a statement on Friday, Oct 9.

The Health Ministry also said that 478 people recovered during the day, bringing the total recoveries from the disease to 34,128, whereas the death toll has reached 1,949 so far.

It also remarked that the new cases were recorded after 5,313 suspected cases were tested across the Kurdistan Region during the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of tests since the outbreak of the virus to 514,556.
