Deputy PM of KRG: We will not compromise on our constitutional rights with Baghdad

Deputy PM of Kurdistan Region, Qubad Talabani, states that the KRG agreement with Baghdad is temporary.

On Monday, Oct 5, Prime Minister and deputy PM of Kurdistan Region arrived in Kurdistan Regional Parliament for answering the lawmakers’ questions on several issues facing the community.

“Part of our problems is political, and those issues existing in Kurdistan Region are also present in Baghdad, and we want to make a fair deal with Baghdad.” Qubad Talabani said during the session.

He also pointed out that “The Federal government cannot resolve our issues due to economic crisis.”

Moreover, regarding the constitutional rights of Kurdish people, deputy PM asserted: “We will not compromise on our constitutional rights with Baghdad.”

Concerning the attempts to diversify the governmental revenues, “We will give more importance to industrial and agricultural sectors with the purpose of increasing revenue, and we shall make agricultural sector as a substitute for oil. We will also repair the factories.” Deputy PM asserted.
