On Wednesday, September 23, 2020, the Co-chair of Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Lahur Talabany, welcomed Spain’s ambassador to Iraq, Juan José Escobar Stemmann, in Slemani.
During the meeting, the economic and political issues confronting Kurdistan Region and Iraq were addressed.

“We discussed ongoing economic and political challenges facing Iraq and the Kurdistan Region." Lahur Talabany wrote in his Facebook account.

"Security and stability remain top priorities for us.” Talabany asserted.

He also added, “I relayed to the Ambassador the potential for investment in the Kurdistan Region and encouraged him to bring investors here to seek opportunities.”
